Happy Sunday!  Thank you for coming back to visit me today.

When I first saw this bundle the rainbow arches reminded me of flower stems.  For this card I laid a garden green arch upside down onto a Lots Of Labels cut out and started to create a focal point.

After laying the stem out I realized that the label needed some texture so I used the Woodgrain folder to emboss it.  Now, back to the stem.  Every stem needs a leaf or two.  The Leaf Punch happens to be the size that I needed.  WHOOHOO!  I punched out a leaf image and then cut two of the leaves off their original stem and placed them on my card.

To make the blossoms I used the largest rainbow arch framelit.   I cut out 5 Crushed Curry arches.  For the center bloom, I used a smaller framelit (two sizes down).  Using my bone folder I curled each arch as if it was curling ribbon (this breaks down the cardstocks fibers and makes it very pliable).  Then holding one end of the arch onto my paper piercing tool I rolled it up.  Using your pointer finger and your thumb you can just spin the arch onto your tool until it becomes a tight spiral.  Now slip the cardstock off of the piercing tool and let it naturally unwind.  To hold the spiral in place I added a dot of multipurpose glue to the end and let it get tacky.  Once the glue was tacky I secured it.

After the blooms were all made, I added multipurpose glue ( good amount of it) in the places I wanted to set each bloom and again I let it get tacky.  Then I laid each bloom into place starting with the center one.

I used the smallest stitched oval to enhance the sentiment and used the ribbon border punch to add a little more interest to the focal point.  Whisper White Bakers Twine was wrapped around the connection of cardstocks and a simple loop was added for balance.

Crumb Cake cardstock, the Woodgrain Folder, and my favorite neutral color Soft Suede Ink were used to create the layered piece.  Lastly, I layered everything onto a crumb cake card base.

I believe the blooms technique is called quilling.  However, you don’t need a quilling tool to do this.   The arches in the cardstock and the paper piercing tool work perfectly.

I hope you are enjoying your visits.  Feel free to let me know what you think.
