Today I’m sharing with you one of the stamp sets, as well as thinlit dies that you can earn free by placing a qualifying Stampin’ Up! SALE A BRATION order. The stamp set is called “Amazing You” and the dies are called “Celebrate You”.
I designed this card, as I usually do, by creating the focal point first. For this card I wanted the focal point to be all about the gorgeous flower in this stamp set.
I do have to tell you that I cut my flower stamp into two pieces (YIKES). Yep, I separated the flower from the sprigs. I know that sounds drastic but cutting this stamp into two pieces works great for me. Having a flower stamp and a separate sprig stamp allows me to stamp faster.
Let me give you an example of what I’m talking about. When you have one stamp that has multiple images on it, i.e a flower with connecting leaves, you can’t use ink pads to ink it up unless you want all the images to be the same color. In order to put different colors on one stamp, you need to use markers. Using markers has its place but today I wanted to stamp flowers quickly so stamp surgery was the answer.
You can see in the photo below that the flower is 3-D. All you have to do to make any flower 3-D is stamp the image two or three times and cut them out. On my card, the first flower was stamped directly onto the Whisper White cardstock square. Then I stamped the sprigs right next to it. Next, I stamped two more flowers onto scrap cardstock and fussy cut them out. I was careful to make a cut between each petal. Lastly, I attached one flower on top of the other using stampin’ dimensionals.
After I had my focal point stamped, I decided to add ribbon. I didn’t have any Flirty Flamingo ribbon (so sad). So I looked around for a ribbon that would work. I was amazed that Calypso Coral ribbon coordinated perfectly.
Now for the sentiment. I cut out the words AMAZING and YOU using the “Celebrating You” thinlits and Flirty Flamingo cardstock. AMAZING was placed on the center strand of ribbon and you on the lower right-hand side of the card.
To finish the card I cut a Flirty Flamingo card base a Calypso Coral layer piece ( which coordinates with the ribbon) and the third layer of Whisper White cardstock. The Whisper White was embellished by using one of the Petal Pair Textured Embossing folders.
This card has a Whisper White embossed inside liner as well. I believe lining the inside of cards is a must.
I hope you enjoyed your time here with me today. Thanks for stopping in and remember it’s time to SALE-A-BRATE.
