Hello friends,

There is so much to show you from the Occasions and SALE~A~BRATION catalogs.  Because of that I chose the stamp set “It’s A Good Day” and the embroidery hoops to create with first.  I intend to show you a few cards made with these items and then I will move on to another suite or set.  Sound good?

The color scheme that I used on this card is quite striking so I want to make sure that you know the colors are Crumb Cake, Powder Pink, Old Olive and a splash of Whisper White.

I also want to point out that the scallop circle behind the embroidery hoop is not card stock.  Look at the close up photo and check it out.  That circle is fabric.  When I think of an embroidery hoop I think fabric so I thought I would incorporate some today.  I didn’t know if a framlit would cut out fabric though but to my excitement it did.  The framelit worked easily I was so happy.

I have about a yard of this fabric in my shop .  This fabric has a rubber or plastic like backing so its stiff and allows the framelits to cut it out just as if it was card stock.  I wanted the circle to be Old Olive so I colored it with the Stampin’ Blends.  Coloring this fabric was simple and the coverage was perfect.   There are no streaks or lines in the fabric, the color is solid and looks like it was made that way.  Yipee another way to use the Stampin Blends.

At OPEN HOUSE yesterday everyone loved this card.  So I gave everyone some of the fabric to take home.  I know they will have fun coloring their fabric any color that they need.

Next I layered the hoop onto the scallop fabric circle.   Multpurpose glue holds it securely.  I used the Pansy Punch and punched out three flowers.  Then I ran them all through the wood plank folder and Big Shot.   Now all you have to do now is layer the flowers onto each other using dimensionals.

The leaf punch gave me the flow of lengthly leaves that I wanted.  Adding ribbon to the top of the hoop created balance.

The card stock pieces behind the hoop are 3 X 3 in size.   Notice that EVERYTHING was embossed with the wood plank folder even the leaves.  I think embossing everything really gave this card a special look.

This card may look hard to make but it’s not, in fact its simple.  It looks so detailed because of all the embossing but really everything goes together quickly.  Using punches for the flower and leaves is quick and easy for sure.

In this picture you can’t tell that Wink of Stella adorns the face of the hoop.  I think that little detail is adorable.  The facet gem in the center of the flower was clear but I colored it with a Stampin Blend too.

Having the Stampin’ Blends really gives you a lot of flexibility.  You can add color to clear items with any blend.  Don’t you just hate it when you don’t have the right color of something?  Well that won’t happen ever again now that we can change clear items to colored items this easily.

Check out the detail up close.  Even the sentiment banner is scalloped, just stick each end of the banner into the new little scallop punch to create that look.  Easy Peasy!

Thank you for stopping by
