Hello fellow stampers / friends and welcome.

Today I’m making thank you cards.  I will give one of these cards to each one of my customers who place a Stampin’ Up! orders during the month of August.

When deciding what to make I grabbed a fall stamp set from the NEW HOLIDAY CATALOG.  I know that it is a little early to use pumpkins so I thought maybe I would use the apple in this set.  However, when I opened up the stamp set my eyes immediately went to the line of seeds stamp.  SEEDS?  Yes!!! Finally a row of seeds that I can stamp and color in quickly.

Because it is still summer, instead of using the apple, I made watermelon slices. See how nicely the watermelons were finished off using these seeds?

How did I make the watermelon slices?  It was easy, just use your layering oval dies to get the shapes.  The colors of cardstock I used were Call Me Clover, Whisper White and Cherry Cobbler. Once you cut out the three sizes of ovals, layer them together and then cut them in half using your snips.  To make the smaller wedge cut one slice in half again.  I stamped the seeds using Memento Black Ink and colored them in using the basic black colored pencils and added the Chyrstal Effects to create shinny seeds. Lastly I inked up a sponge using the Call Me Clover Ink and sponged on to the clover and whispser white cardstock.

As I was finishing up the watermelons, I thought a few nibbles woud look cute.  I grabbed the new PineTree punch laid it sideways and took a bit off of the larger slice.  Cute Huh?

Now that I had watermelons completed,  I thought that the Buffalo Check stamp would create a great country feel.  So I stamped my layer piece with it using Black Memento Ink.  Don’t glue the layer piece to the Cherry Cobbler base yet.  You have to make the tablecloth first.

Okay with my base done and layer piece ready I needed something to ground the slices.  How about a tablecloth?  So, I cut a dsp piece to 4 x 4 and laid the straight edge across the card to create the look.  I simply tucked in the corners and glued them down.  NOW you can layer the buffalo check to the card base.

Add the smaller slice first then using dimensionals add the larger slice.

Lastly, I used the Well Written dies and gold foil sheets to cut out the THANK YOU.  I secured that with multipurpose glue.

My point in all of this is that you can use holiday or seasonal stamp sets all year round.  I try my best to keep your creative juices flowing but at minimum just copy my ideas.  When you copy me, I consider it a compliment.

Thank you for your time, feel free to leave a comment and remember my friends ~
