Hello friends, and welcome to my world of stamping. Yesterday was a good stamping day. When I say that I mean I made a lot of cards. In fact, I made 4 cards and a banner. I showed you Mikie’s card yesterday and today I’m showing you one of the other three that I created.
Above is card #1. I want to focus on the focal point here. See the little lace-like detail at the bottom of the focal point. Can I tell you this thinlit is right up my alley? OMGosh it is so lovely just as the name of the bundle implies. And those NEW Rectangle Framelits absolutely a must have.
After cutting out a stitched rectangle I ran the piece through the Big Shot using the subtle folder. That folder is the folder that I use the most. It is subtle and gorgeous. If you put a piece of cardstock next to a piece that has been embossed using this folder you will see a huge difference. So, I use it all of the time. It will step up your cards immediately. Next, I layered all of my cut out thinlits pieces and the stamped and cut out rose onto the rectangle.
Let’s talk about that rose. I stamped and cut out three roses. Then I cut them into three layers. One stayed like it is orginally, the next one I cut down to the smaller inside of the rose and the third one I cut out the center. Then I crumpled each piece smoothed them out slightly and then layered them together using dimensionals. Now when I dissected the middles of two of the roses I saved the edges and used them underneath the rose. Now you have a ruffly 3-D rose. It’s so pretty.
Back to building the focal point, all I did was lay out the rose and leaves until I liked the way they looked and using glue dots I set them all in place.
The sentiment was stamped using basic gray ink and was stamped on another stitched rectangle. I didn’t run this rectangle through the folder just to ensure the wording was absolutely clear. I added a little flower ( this flower is also a thinlit in the set. And all three pieces cut out at one time) lastly I added the black facet in the middle.
All were mounted on a layering piece of Whisper White cardstock. The folder I used for the texture on this piece is called Pinewood plank.
Now all that is left to do is to choose a color for my card base, (I know I work backward). When I look at my card front it tells me what color I should use for the base. For this card, it said, Basic Gray.
Tomorrow I will share card # 2 so make sure you come back.
Thank you, Liz and Debbie, for your recent comments. I love hearing from those who visit with me.
NOTE: Seaside folder was not used, I added it to the product list in error.
