Hi there and welcome to my blog. This month our team is sharing the fabulous color combination that you see above. I’ve always loved Real Red and Basic Gray so this months assignment excited me. I especially loved adding Smokey Slate and Powder Pink to the mix. I must admit I was curious to see what these four colors would look like together because I’ve never combined them before. I love it and I’m sure I will use these colors together often.
I decided to make a gate fold card for you today. I also wanted to use the Stampin’ Up! Bundle “Petal Palette”. Everything I’ve seen made with this bundle is gorgeous. This bundle is so easy to use and all the elements go together perfectly.
To enhance the Smokey Slate cardstock panels I embossed them using the Garden Trellis Embossing Folder and then I rounded every corner. To round the corners I used the corner rounder that is built into the envelope punch board.
All of the images were cut out using the “Petal Palette” thinlits. I used Memento Black Ink to stamp all of the sentiments and the bird. Lastly, I colored in the little bird with Real Red Ink and an Aquapainter.
To dress up the inside of the card, I cut a 1″ strip of Basic Gray Cardstock and embossed it. Then I cut another trellis image in white and tucked it behind the embossed strip.
The heart was made with a punch that has been discontinued however the Cookie Cutter Builder Punch has a heart image that you could use.
Here are some close-ups of the front panels for you. Adding glimmer paper to each flower helped them stand out.
Adding pearls added even more glam.
Wink of Stella on the little heart makes it stand out.
Here is another card made with all the same colors and the same bundle. I just changed it up slightly to make a Sympathy card.
I hope that you enjoyed your visit here. Now you can hop on over to Jo Anne Hewins blog to see what she made just for you.
