To my followers, this month’s hop won’t connect to the group.  My dad went to be with Jesus yesterday and I did not have the time to connect with the group.  I apologize and I hope you understand.  This is my post to the point I could complete it earlier in the month.

Hello all and welcome to the last Color Fusers Blog Hop of 2018.  We are finishing off this year with a great big bang.  These colors are definitely festive and perfect to use during the Christmas holiday season.

This month I started my projects by making poinsettias.  Then I used the poinsettias on both of my projects.  I decided to make one traditional poinsettia and one made from printed plaid cardstock.

Cherry Cobbler is my favorite SU red so I was happy to see it in this months line up.  I love traditional Poinsettia so I used Cherry Cobbler cardstock to create the first one.  I also wanted to make a poinsettia with one of the beautifully printed plaid cardstocks that came in the November Paper Pumpkin Kit.

I know, you can’t find a plaid poinsettia out in nature but that is why paper crafting is so much fun, right?  You can use your imagination and create things the way you see them in your little world!

Can you guess what I used to create the poinsettia petals?  I used that cute Christmas Bulb punch.  You can find the punch in the Holiday catalog.  Don’t stop using this punch when the holidays are over, I’m excited to make daisies in the summer and other 3-D flowers throughout the year with it.

The bases for both of my projects were made using the Buffalo Check background stamp.  This stamp is one that I will never give up.  That doesn’t happen in this house.  Usually, when a stamp retires I sell it at my annual garage sale.  But this one is a keeper, I just love it, it makes me happy so I will keep it in my collection forever.

The shimmer and shine in these projects come from gold foil paper.  However, I decided to use some Gold Glimmer paper for the sentiment HOLIDAY.  I like the texture and thickness of the glimmer paper.   I think the texture in the paper brings out the texture in the gold beads that I used in the center of the Cherry Cobble Poinsettia.

On the card, I used gold foil paper.  The thinlit that I chose to use is so intricate and beautiful on its own, but when you use gold foil paper with it, it is striking.

Adding white ribbon to the card created some separation and a flair of whimsy.

How to make the tree box:

  1. Cut four pieces of Whisper White cardstock at 3 X 6 and score one end at 2″
  2. Mark the center of the 3″ side with a pencil of all four pieces
  3. Using your paper trimmer score from the pencil mark to the 2″ score line to form a triangle image on each piece.
  4. Trim the sides of the triangle to make folding tabs
  5. Trim off the bottom corners of the bottom tabs ( this makes folding the bottom easy )
  6. Place tear and tape on the right tab of each triangle
  7. Stick all four pieces together lining everything up carefully
  8. Fill with candy if desired
  9. Turn in bottom tabs and secure
  10. Add a gold foil Reeses Peanut Butter Cup for the tree stand.

Thanks for stopping by, enjoy the rest of the hop and have a blessed day.  Beverlee
