Happy Fall ya’ all,  Yeah that is right summer flew by and now fall is upon us.  Fall happens to be my favorite time of year.  I love the change of colors in the trees, the chill in the air and the aromas of soups in the slow cooker.  I also love to bake, something about the smell of cookies baking or a pie sitting on the table ready to taste.

Stamping for the fall season invites you to use the color, Cajun Craze.  By adding Calypso Coral, Crushed Curry and Granny Apple Green to the fall color Cajun Craze you get an interesting bit of brightness to your fall artwork.

My first step in creating my card was to stamp the wreath from the stamp set WISHING YOU WELL in EARLY ESPRESSO ink onto WOOD TEXTURE 6 X 6 DSP.  I did that because I wanted to use the perfect shape of the stamped wreath to give me a perfect shape to work with.

Second I ran the DSP through the Big Shot using the PINEWOOD PLANKS folder.  Now I was ready to create.

Next,  I added my layer piece to the base card.  Then I added a strip of FOAM ADHESIVE STRIPS on top of the stamped wreath.

My next step was to tone down the other colors just a bit.  To do that I added worked with the color on color technique.   This technique is effective and easy.  All you need to do is tap and rub the same color ink directly onto the same color cardstock.  While the cardstock looks like a hot mess originally when you punch out your sprigs, the ink gives each sprig texture as well as additional interest.  The other thing I like about ink directly put onto cardstock is that the cardstock immediately is toned down.  Now, these bright colors are appropriate for a fall setting.

To create the sprigs I used the new punch which is named  SPRIG PUNCH.  You can find this punch on page 29 of the holiday catalog.  I punched out a bunch of sprigs in each color, then I was ready to build my wreath.

I just placed the sprigs onto the foam adhesive strips in an organized manner.  Place one at the top then one at the bottom and then one on both sides.  After you have the wreath spaced out in quarters you can start filling it in.  I chose to use more Granny Apple Green then any other color and to add in the other colors lightly.  Lastly, I added a glittery double bow.

This card is very simple to make and does not take long at all.  Punches make your creations come to life quickly.

For this goodie bag, I did the same thing I did on the card.  Stamp, add the adhesive strip and build your wreath.   Adding a cute little tag finished this project off.  The greeting is from the WISHING YOU WELL SET as well.

In this close up picture,  you can really see the effects of the color on color technique..

And here is a close up so that you can see all of the detail.  The bow was sprayed with an adhesive and then I sprinkled on dazzling diamonds glitter.

Enjoy your fall and thank you for stopping over.  Now head on over to see what other fantastic ideas are waiting for you.
