Happy New Year everyone! I’m so glad that you are visiting today’s blog hop on this first day of 2018.
There is so much to share with you. The Color Fuser Team is going to show you samples of beautiful cards and 3-D items using the color combination above.
For today’s hop I chose to work with the SWEET SOIREE SUITE. This suite is gorgeous. This suite not only has a bundle it has coordinating embellishments. In this suite you will find an embellishment kit that is to die for. The suite also has silver and white bakers twine, an embossing folder, designer series paper, ribbon,, silver mini gable boxes and shreddie. Everything looks beautiful together. With all that product you can’t help but make beautiful works of art.
Now lets talk about my card. The card base is made from Marina Mist card stock. Then I added a layer of Whisper White card stock onto the base. The addition of the Whisper White card stock added a nice boarder to the whole design. Next I added embossed Silver Foil paper as a third layer. With the base finished I was ready for a focal point.
For the focal point I selected the cake and cake stand from bundle. In order to make the cake stand out I had to add one more layer underneath it. I chose Whisper White card stock again because it’s crisp and clean and it would not compete with the other elements of this design. Notice though that I embossed this layer across the middle. I love the folders that come in a pair because you can emboss a small amount of card stock or the whole card.
The sentiment “Celebrate” was stamped in Marina Mist ink. Having the word Celebrate in the left top corner created balance. The sentiment is very generic so you can use this card for an event that’s worth celebrating. I really like that versatility.
Lastly I started ( baking ) stamping the cake. This stamp set is a two step stamp set, so for the first step of the cake I used Soft Sky ink. For the second step ( the detail of the cake) I used Marina Mist ink. The contrast of those two colors is very attractive and allows the images to show through perfectly. Lastly I used the thinlits to cut everything out.
Lets go back to the sentiment CELEBRATE for a moment. I want you to look closely at the font. Isn’t the font lovely? I really really like it. Most of the other sentiments in the set are in the same font style. You just can’t go wrong with this bundle.
Below is a close up of the cards focal point. I want you to see all the detail. The flower topper is layered. Layering the cake topper makes the cake more realistic. The vellum bouquet comes from the embellishment kit. I literally just popped it out of it’s packaging and adhered it down. A faceted gem on the largest flower seemed appropriate so I added one and yes the gem added the perfect amount of bling.
The Whisper White Organza ribbon flows nicely down the left side of this card. That ribbon coordinates with everything, I’ve been using it a lot. It’s a great staple to have.
I’m excited about this bundle and this color combo. Give these colors a try and have fun hopping on over to my team mates blogs.
As an added bonus I’m sharing a silver gable box that I dressed up with the embellishment kit and the suites designer series paper.
