O’ Christmas Tree

When I first saw the adorable mini ornaments in the holiday catalog I knew I had to get some.  I thought a small table tree would look adorable adorned with them.  I have a small silver table top tree that I planned to embellish with these cute mini ornaments.  As I was looking at the ornaments I thought how would they look on a vintage spring?

Every holiday I create a 3-D item using vintage springs.  This year I made this tree.  I used the Cherry Cobbler Dark Blend to color white pearls.  Changing the color of the white pearls create berries.  Berries look darling on the wreaths.  Speaking of the wreath, I’ve gone through so many boxes of these little wreaths they are precious.   On my Christmas Tree Spring I used a wreath as the tree topper.

I used Stampin’ Up’s silver thread to hang the ornaments onto the tree.   I stained a round paper mache’ box using Cherry Cobbler Re-inker and a sponge.  When the ink dried I used the stencils and embossing paste to create the brick pattern on the lid. Dazzling Diamonds glitter makes the box look a bit snowy.  Very Vanilla Lace Trim dresses up the bottom of the box and designer series paper dressed up the inside.  The spring just sets perfectly on the box bottom.  All I had to do to finish this cute little tree off is to lean the lid up against it.

This little tree will sit perfectly on the hall way table upstairs among other Christmas holiday decor.

Please let me know what you think of my little tree?  I love it!

With Much Sympathy

Good Sunday my friends.

I recently earned the Graveyard Gate Bundle. This bundle is in the Holiday Catalog in the Halloween area.  I have heard my customers say that they think this bundle is beautiful however it’s seasonal so they didn’t see the value.

My brain must be so different from most because when I first saw this gorgeous gate I thought of heaven.

Today while shopping at Costco I ran into a friend.  When we greeted each other she said the nicest thing.  She said to Kenn and I that she was so glad that she ran into us because when she see’s us she always gets happy.   Ahhh what a sweet thing to say.

I noticed our friend looked tired and a bit sad, but she didnt seem to want to share anything so I didn’t inquire at first.  But after talking a while I just had to make sure that she was okay.  Well, as I expected she was sad.  My friends Grandmother went to be with Jesus yesterday.  My goodness Im glad I asked and that she shared loss with us.

When I got home I made this card for her.  I knew this gate would represent the pearly gates when I needed it to and after seeing this card I hope you agree.  I’m hoping this card gives my friend and her family a bit of comfort and peace in the knowledge that grandma is in the Lord’s care.

A card can do so much to brighten a day, I can’t wait until this one gets to it’s destination.

Holiday Embellishments

These little boxes are called Pizza Boxes.  The Pizza Boxes are on page 44 the Holiday Catalog.  The boxes are so nice they have a glossy finish on the outside and a mat finish on the inside and you get eight boxes in each pack.  In the Holiday Catalog you will also find all of the embellishments that I used to decorate this box.

I started embellishing by using one of the new Gold Foil Snowflakes (you get both silver and gold snowflakes in each pack).  Then I layered a die-cut Silver Glimmer Paper Christmas tree on top.  Beautiful ribbon, silver thread and a Silver Mini Ornament all help make this box special.  You will find the Mini Ornaments are on page 12, check them out you are going to love them.  When I saw the Mini Ornaments I knew they would look so pretty on my small table top Christmas tree and they do their size is perfect.   Think 3-D when it comes to the Mini Ornaments, they are so special you will keep them to use year after year.

My newest recruit Christine came over today for some training.  I wanted to give her a gift and of course I had to wrap it up Stampin’ Up! Style.  She was thrilled with the box, I bet she would have been satisfied if the box was her gift, but it wasn’t there was a hand made present inside.

This box is one of the items I made when I was flaking out yesterday.  I thought you might like to see more of my snowflake creations.  When you look through the catalog you will notice Whisper White 3×3 envelopes.  Those envelopes fit perfectly in these boxes.  Wouldn’t it be fun to make 3×3 cards and pair them up with the envelopes then place them all in the Pizza box for gift giving?

Another great surprise would be to place a large speciality cookie inside an embellished Pizza Box.  There are so many ways you can use these adorable boxes the possibilities are endless.

Until tomorrow my friends

Flaking Out

Today I flaked out.  I made card after card using snowflakes.  In the new HOLIDAY CATALOG there are so many snowflakes images.  There are snowflake stamps, thinlits, snowflake designer series paper, a snowflake folder and gold and silver snowflake doilies. WOWZA!

This card was made using some of the new thinlits and designer series paper.  I started this card by die-cutting a large circle out of Watercolor Paper.  Next I die-cut two snowflakes out of the circle.  In the available space I stamped the sentiment using Cherry Cobbler Ink.  A layer of designer series paper lays quietly behind die-cuts and shows through nicely.

The card base is simple its just Whisper White card stock with a layer of the same Designer Series Paper placed on top. The circle is large enough that you really don’t need much more on the card.  To make my circle into a Christmas ornament I added ribbon on top.  You can find this ribbon in the Holiday Catalog as well.  I think this card is very elegant and it was easy to make. I will have it on display in my studio until early December and then I send it out.

FYI:  The NEW HOLIDAY PRODUCT LIST is not available until Sept 1. So I can’t give you the new products item numbers.  When you get your catalog you will see it all in there.  Come and get them anytime I have one for you.

It was fun flaking out today.  I hope you flake out soon.

Santa’s Sleigh

Christmas cards, sleigh

This bundle is amazing!

The bundle Santa’s Sleigh Stamp Set and Thinlits Dies is stunning.  Everyone who sees it wants to play with it.  Then they want to own it.  It is a beautiful bundle to have, that is for sure.

On this card I did a few different things.  Look closely at the sleigh.  I cut it out using the sleigh thinlet and Whisper White card stock.  Then I ran the sleigh through the Big Shot using the Holly Folder.  I colored the complete sleigh with the Gold Wink of Stella.  Can you see that detail?

Next I used Cherry Cobbler Card Stock and the detailed sleigh thinlet overlay.  After cutting that out I placed it onto the gold sleigh.  I secured the overlay to the sleigh using Tombow Multi Purpose glue.  Oooh lala pretty.

Now fill the sleigh with gifts and a piece of a doilie.  Add dimensionals to the back and set aside.

On a Whisper White layer size piece of card stock stamp the trees from the stamp set Lovely as a Tree.  I used Always Artichoke ink.  Make sure to stamp the trees towards the top of  the card stock.

Tear another piece of Whisper White card stock vertically.  Add Clear Wink of Stella to the torn edge to make the snow.  Set the torn edge below the trees to decide placement.  Now add some lacy doilie to the bottom back of the snow piece and layer the whole thing below the trees.

I took a doilie and cut the center out.  Then I made a slit in it to cause the lace to lay straight.  Lastly cut two strips of gold foil paper.  Add them to the top and bottom (on the back) of the stamped piece and layer it all onto a Cherry Cobbler card base.  You can add clear Wink of Stella to the trees for extra shimmer.  Then put your sleigh in place.

I hope you like my design.  I really enjoyed adding my touch to this bundle.

Blessings~Beverlee
