Wintery Christmas

The star of this show is Dazzling Diamonds Glitter and I love it.  To show you how sparkly this card really is I took a close up picture.  Can you see all of that sparkle?  Wait until you see this one in person.

I made two bows for this card (one larger than the other) and layered them onto each other.  The fullness that two bows create is gorgeous. To complete the topper for the wreath  I placed the bows onto Christmas colored foliage.  Once I had all of the foliage and lace adhered to each other I sprayed everything with a spray adhesive.  Lastly I sprinkled Dazzling Diamonds Glitter generously all over the cluster of embellishments.  The effect of the glitter is stunning.  Every time I walk by this card it catches my eye.

To give this card a rustic look, I added a small piece of faux wood under the wreath.  I’m so happy with the touch of wood.   It added just the right touch.  Finally I used a boarder stamp from the Touches of Texture stamp set and Soft Suede Ink to enhance the layered edges of this card.   Whisper White card stock acts as a cold winter suggestion.

This card was cased.  I changed it up a lot but the original designer was genius when she made this framelit into a wreath.  I give thanks to her.

This wintery Christmas card is one of the three projects that my Super Stamper Group will make on Nov. 29th…. we are going to have a blast.  In addition to the seven group members we have two guests coming.  This is going to be a fun and special stamp day.

O’ Christmas Tree

When I first saw the adorable mini ornaments in the holiday catalog I knew I had to get some.  I thought a small table tree would look adorable adorned with them.  I have a small silver table top tree that I planned to embellish with these cute mini ornaments.  As I was looking at the ornaments I thought how would they look on a vintage spring?

Every holiday I create a 3-D item using vintage springs.  This year I made this tree.  I used the Cherry Cobbler Dark Blend to color white pearls.  Changing the color of the white pearls create berries.  Berries look darling on the wreaths.  Speaking of the wreath, I’ve gone through so many boxes of these little wreaths they are precious.   On my Christmas Tree Spring I used a wreath as the tree topper.

I used Stampin’ Up’s silver thread to hang the ornaments onto the tree.   I stained a round paper mache’ box using Cherry Cobbler Re-inker and a sponge.  When the ink dried I used the stencils and embossing paste to create the brick pattern on the lid. Dazzling Diamonds glitter makes the box look a bit snowy.  Very Vanilla Lace Trim dresses up the bottom of the box and designer series paper dressed up the inside.  The spring just sets perfectly on the box bottom.  All I had to do to finish this cute little tree off is to lean the lid up against it.

This little tree will sit perfectly on the hall way table upstairs among other Christmas holiday decor.

Please let me know what you think of my little tree?  I love it!

Burlap Poinsettia

Today Stampin’ Up! released the new blend markers.  I’m so happy that we have these new alcohol based markers they are awesome.

On this card I used the Cherry Cobbler Dark Blend to color the berries in the center of my burlap poinsettia.

Today I was making Christmas bows out of some ribbon a friend had given me.  As I was making them I started wondering if I could make smaller poinsettia bows our of our Stampin’ Up! ribbon.  So I grabbed the burlap ribbon and started.  I worked, I was thrilled.

After I had made the poinsettia I started building the card to place it on.  A  4 X 4 piece of DSP layered onto card stock helped build a base of stability for the poinsettia.   Before I placed my poinsettia down I added the stripped ribbon across the square base.  I really like the mixture of the music patterns and the black and white stripes of the ribbon.  Tails of  two other ribbons in crumb cake and real red hanging down from the focal point help balance out the card.  A stamped Merry Christmas wish says it all and the holly embossed card stock bumps up the elegance to the next level.  The clear faceted gems add just a touch of sparkle.

To make the clear gems red all you have to do is color over them with the dark Cherry Cobbler Blend.  That is right any blend marker will color your white pearls, clear gems, brads, rhinestones permanently.  Order yours today, you are going to love them….

I hope you like today’s  card design, it was fun making it.

You have a great Wednesday and thanks for visiting.

DIY Santa Class

Hello my friends,  today we recorded a DIY class video.  However it was to long to post onto Utube so I had to break it up into two parts.  Above is part 1 and below is part 2.  And that is not all the second video ended abruptly before I was actually finished.  I’m posting the video’s anyway because I think they are still helpful.

When I talk about watercoloring, I meant to say blending.  Blending with the new blend markers is so much fun, you are going to love your blends. I also talked about not knowing where you can purchase cones ( incase you want to make more Santa’s).  After we finished the video I checked out Amazon Prime and sure enough they have them.  That is awesome because if I run out  ( I only have 35) you know where you can go to get more.

Kenn and I learned today that we need  to record about 12 minute videos max or they won’t fit on UTUBE.  Next time we will do better.  I love that Kenn helps me though.  He feels its the least he can do since I take him on the Incentive Trips.  If he stops helping me, I will take one of you with me.  LOL!  We will have a drawing or something to see who can go.

I hope you can attend class.  I really think you will have fun making this adorable Santa.  Sign up your friends too, the more the merrier!

Send me your order right away, I will place it on Nov. 1 and color your cones for you.  Don’t forget I need to know what color you want. Powder Pink, Real Red or Pool Party.

CLASS DATES Thursday Nov. 16 @ 10am and Saturday Nov. 18 @ 1p.m

Cost ~ $39.00 ( plus shipping and tax ) minimum order

Ornaments

This morning I wrapped up the BINGO welcome gifts SU style.  It was so much fun to make these ornament tags.  I had no idea how I would package the bingo gifts but when I went out into my studio it just all came together nicely.  Do you know what the gifts are?  Can you guess?

The tags are easily removable so that my guests can use this ornament tag on their holiday gifts.
