Foil Sheets

Hello Friends!

I’m totally in love with all of the foil sheets that Stampin’ Up! carries.  So, yesterday morning when creating the make and take a card for my upcoming open house I grabbed gold foil.  As I pondered all the ways I could use it, I thought why not experiment with an unlikely pair.  So I went over to my punches.  While looking over my collection of punches, the daisy punch grabbed my attention.  A gold daisy?  Hmmm, well the worst thing that can happen is that I waste a piece of my beautiful foil, right?  That my friends is how this card was born.

In order to ensure that the gold daisy stood out, I used crumb cake cardstock for the base.  Then I added color on color layer.  I think that crumb cake did the job nicely, now the daisy really stands out.  Then I wanted to add some color into the mix so I grabbed the 6 X 6  2018-2020 dsp In Color pack. All of the in-colors are so pretty anyone of them would have worked but  I chose a tidbit of the rococo rose designer series paper.  I thought that the script pattern worked best and away my imagination went.  I started to layer a focal point when I noticed that the dsp needed a base under it so I placed a rococo rose cardstock layer between it and the base.  Now everything flows nicely and looks complete.

I always add texture to my cards, so of course, I grabbed the scripty 3-D folder, it just coordinates with the designer series paper perfectly.  I used the folder to add texture to the daisy, the gold strip and on the base layer, heck I used it on almost everything.  Cards are all about a message, right?

Now for a little more interest, I added a fluffy linen bow to the center of the daisy and some soft sprigs.  The length of the sprigs and the placement totally balances everything out.  A cute little saying towards the bottom lets the recipient know that it’s their time to shine, just like the foil gold daisy.

The last touch that I want to point out is the ruff edges of the layering piece.  When you ruff up the edges of the layer base it stands out just a bit more.

It’s fun to sit and create for you all, I hope you enjoyed your visit here with me.  Oh one last thing, please RSVP to my OPEN HOUSE so I can prep a card packet for you.  I hope you want to make this card while visiting with me and the other ladies who have already RSVP’d.

Gallery Grunge meets Scripty

Hi and welcome to my blog.  Today I’m sharing a card that I created using the stamp set Gallery Grunge.  I’m excited that this stamp set can be used in other ways than just a filler or to make a collage.

I recorded a video to show you exactly what I did.  Kick back and enjoy and please let me know what you think.
