Hello friends and welcome back to my blog.
Today I’m sharing with you a project that I came up with for an upcoming craft night. I was recently asked to hold a class for a group of teachers. Of course, I said yes. The apple is the project the teachers will be making. I LOVE it! I hope they all do too.
I believe that teachers are worth their weight in gold, so If I can contribute to a fun night out for these ladies, then that is what I plan on doing.
I wanted to come up with a project that the teachers could make and then proudly display on their desks. I wanted the project to reflect their passions and their trademark so an APPLE came to mind. When I showed the organizer of the group my idea, she flipped, she said YES right away.
With the project approved, I collected the books that they will need. I’ve drawn the pattern and I wrote a little instruction sheet.
An apple made from a book helps to tie into the teaching theme, cute huh? The apple that they are making is pretty big. I don’t know if you can tell how big it is in this photo so I wanted to let you know that the apple is substantial. I wanted the apple to make a statement on the teacher’s desks so the size is important.
I used a circle punch, Mossy Meadow card stock and the Corrugated Folder to make the leaves. I combined rubbing alcohol and Cherry Cobbler ink refill in a small spray bottle to make the red spray. Lastly, I used thick jute to make the bow. The stem is a stick from our yard.
You don’t have to be a teacher to make this. I will offer this class to anyone who is interested so just let me know if you want to make one. If there is interest, I will set up another class date.
These apples would make a GREAT teacher’s appreciation gift or home decor. Mine sits on our coffee table. However, because the apple is a form of art, I can move it around and set it in many different places in our home. For example, the apple would look really cute on a bookshelf, in the kitchen or even in a child’s room.
My oh my I’m excited to teach this project. It was a ton of fun to create.
Have a great day! Live Loved my friends, Beverlee
